Cortney Ragsdale (6th Grade Counselor)
Cortney Ragsdale (6th Grade Counselor) Mrs. Ragsdale received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Service and Psychology from Southern Wesleyan University and a Masters of Education in School Counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2021. Mrs. Ragsdale is currently working on a Master’s in Trauma-Informed Education from Columbia College. She has worked as a social worker for 5 years with DSS, she has served as an interventionist, and has worked in the education field for over 4 years. Mrs. Ragsdale has served as a school counselor at all levels. She has a love for all children and wants to make a difference in the lives of the students she serves. Mrs. Ragsdale has been married to Joshua Ragsdale for 12 years and has 3 children- Parker, Kayleigh, and Emery Kate. Jennifer Miller (7th Grade Counselor)
Ms. Miller received her B.S. in Psychology in 2000 from Liberty University. She earned a M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling in 2005 from the University of West Georgia. She earned her Ed.S. in School Counseling and Supervision from Valdosta State University in 2023. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor who worked in Jackson and Barrow Counties at the elementary level for 16 years. Ms. Miller has also worked as a "school-within-a-school" counselor at the middle school level in Alaska. Additionally, she has worked as a DFCS case worker, activity therapist, and community counselor. Ms. Miller believes that in partnership with other educators, families, and the community, school counselors facilitate the support system to ensure all students have access to and are prepared with the knowledge and skills to contribute at the highest level as productive members of society.
Ms. Miller is a graduate of the Stephens County School System and is happy to be living and working in her own hometown. She enjoys time with family, the lake, hiking, and her dogs.
